I was born and raised on Maui, Hawaii. Yes, it is as beautiful and charming as you imagine, and you should definitely visit. I now live in a 100-year old home in the heart of Los Angeles with my husband Steve and our 2-year-old son Aaron (the boy with the most kissable cheeks in the universe). Steve and I both work as pastors for college students on a university campus. I also run my own handmade accessories business, Frayed Apron.
On a whim, I began The Larissa Monologues in March of 2007, and discovered the joys of blogging. It is my place to share my life and reflections, and to cultivate my personal creativity.
I write about a lot of things, the most frequent being food. I am passionate about cooking, as evidenced by the many recipes that I share here. The food I make tends to be simple and delicious. I try to make healthy food, but we have to have dessert once in a while, don't you think? The recipes I share are my own, unless otherwise noted. Unlike most food bloggers out there, I have a cheapo camera that isn't capable of fancy-schmancy food porn shots. So if amateur photography bugs you, please send money so I can afford a better camera.
Things I love: other ENFJs (such as my husband), granola, thrift stores, healthy life choices, my iPhone, playing guitar, Old Vine Zinfandel, crafting, boots, Plaid Skirt perfume (which I can no longer find in stores!), gardenias, playing Texas Hold 'Em, Crock Pots, reading young adult fiction, strong coffee, nice people, and exploring new places.
