My Flashy Bridesmaid Dress

Only three days until my brother's wedding!

I'm excited for many reasons. First, I love my brother and future sister-in-law, and can't wait for them to start this new journey together. Also, there will be lots of family and friends who are coming from out of town. And c'mon, who doesn't love a wedding?

The wedding also means that I get to wear the pretty, yellow, flow-y bridesmaid dress that I bought for the occasion. And my cute gold sandals and matching earrings.

The other day, I tried on everything - dress, accessories, shoes - because that is what EVERY woman does before a dressy event. Lo and behold, the dress didn't quite fit! I should have realized that, since I purchased the dress in March, and have since lost about ten more pounds. Oops. The top of the dress hangs loosely on my bust and shoulders. Luckily for me, the dress has fabric that crosses in the front, and ties. So if I tie the fabric suuuuuper tight, it can work. I am praying that we don't have a sister-of-the-groom-flashes-the-wedding-guests situation, you know?

Although I suppose that would make the celebration highly entertaining.

Shedding those pounds always feels so great, but then it's so annoying when your clothes stop fitting! Although too big is definitely better than too small ;)

That dress is gorgeous and the accessories just make me want to smile!

I love your outfit! You can sew, right? (I remember you making that dress a while ago...) I'm sure you could find a way to temporarily alter the dress so that it fits!

Have a great time at the wedding! :)

Congrats to your baby brother!

You will look fabulous in the dress. I just wore a pale yellow bridesmaid dress--it's a great choice. (Be grateful it's loose--the one I wore last summer felt overly snug: I blame grad school).

Have lotsa fun with your family!

wow i would pay to wear that to my friend's wedding. i'm a lot scared of what she's going to force us to wear.

love the outfit!! but ooh if it wasn't adjustable i would have been sooo pissed! i did that when bigger clothes i had but really liked looked awful on my thinner self.

then, i remembered the alternative.
and i stopped feeling bad.

I really love that color. Yellow is so pretty for weddings I think. Also, I'm totally with you on the whole 'try it on before' thing. I even like to 'practice' how I'm going to do my hair. I've never met a guy who fully appreciated this ritual.

Have a fantastic time at the wedding!

SUCH a great ensemble! The montage you made here definitely made me think that you're straight from the pages of InStyle weddings. Hope it was a marvelous wedding, and that all of these dress-up elements were even more gorgeous than anticipated : )
